You should notify your insurer as soon as you become aware of a claim or circumstance that may give rise to a claim which could include a client complaint, you discovering an incident or an allegation of harm. Claims should be made in writing and handled in line with the claims notification requirements which will be outlined in your policy wording.
The level of cover needed depends on your services, client exposure, contractual requirements and risk profile. Policy limits and sub-limits apply and higher-risk services may require higher limits. You should contact our Specialty team to assist you in determining the level of cover that is right for you.
Common exclusions include dishonest or criminal acts, conduct under the influence of alcohol or drugs, prior known claims, certain cyber risks and the cost of re-performing or correcting faulty work. Full exclusions are set out in the policy wording.
