Retroactive Date Exclusion

The Prior Acts Exclusion ensures the policy only covers incidents happening after its stated retroactive date. If a fault occurred earlier but is discovered later, it falls outside cover. For example, a tradie’s 2019 installation failure won’t be insured if the retroactive date is 2020. Why it matters: It defines the true start of protection under “claims-made” policies and prevents backdated risk.
