Therapy and Counselling Expenses

Cover for gap payments (amounts not covered by Medicare or private health insurance) incurred by the Insured for mental health therapy and counselling services arising from an Inquiry, where: (a) services are provided pursuant to a practitioner referral under the Medicare Benefits Schedule (Better Access) Initiative; (b) the Insured is not entitled to such services under workers' compensation or other insurance; and (c) the insurer has agreed to cover the related Inquiry Legal Costs. Generally excludes pre-existing mental health conditions. This benefit recognises the psychological impact of regulatory investigations on Allied Health practitioners.
